Introducing the GMC Hummer EV EarthCruiser: A Sustainable All-Terrain Overlander

EarthCruiser, the renowned overland adventure travel and camping specialist company, has recently unveiled the highly anticipated all-electric GMC Hummer EarthCruiser. This remarkable upfit solution is designed to seamlessly integrate onto the electric truck’s chassis, offering adventurers an unparalleled combination of cutting-edge technology and superior comfort, both on-road and off-road.

Excitement for the Hummer EarthCruiser has been building since EarthCruiser released a teaser earlier this month. Now, the public will get their first glimpse of this impressive vehicle at the Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado, where it will be on display from August 25 to 27.

One of the standout features of this overlander is its commitment to sustainability and off-grid capability. EarthCruiser’s collaboration with GMC begins with a carbon-fiber house that seamlessly integrates into the EV’s chassis. To ensure extended periods of off-grid power autonomy, the Hummer EarthCruiser is equipped with a remarkable 605-watt onboard solar power system and a 6-kilowatt-hour 12V lithium battery setup. This setup provides an estimated seven days of power, allowing adventurers to run essential appliances like refrigerators or freezers and ensuring a continuous supply of sustenance during their trips.

In terms of adaptability, the EarthCruiser upfit features a tri-layered insulated pop-up roof camper shell, enabling exploration in any season. The interior of the vehicle is thoughtfully designed to optimize functionality and storage. It includes appliances, shower facilities, outlets, storage space, and even a flat-pack toilet. Additionally, the RV full-size bed offers a comfortable resting place on any type of terrain, while the intuitive 7.0-inch touchscreen control panel simplifies vehicle management. Other essential camping amenities include a 13.5-gallon freshwater tank, a 7-gallon grey water tank, integrated exterior LED scene lights, exterior gear storage, dimmable interior lighting, and an onboard 12-volt water heater.

When it comes to interior space, the living area of the EarthCruiser offers ample headroom, with 80 inches at the entry, 76 inches in the hallway, and 35 inches in the bed area. This ensures that occupants can move freely within the vehicle and enjoy a comfortable living experience.

The Hummer EarthCruiser upfit is expected to be available to Hummer EV owners in 2024 through EarthCruiser’s retail network. However, it’s important to note that the overlanding upfit does not fall under GM’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty, as it involves independent-supplier alterations.

EarthCruiser first announced its project based on the Hummer EV in March of this year, and after just five months of development, it is almost ready to go on sale. The level of anticipation and excitement surrounding this vehicle speaks to the growing demand for eco-friendly and adventure-ready electric overlanding options.

In conclusion, EarthCruiser’s all-electric GMC Hummer EarthCruiser is set to revolutionize the overland adventure travel and camping experience. With its state-of-the-art technology, commitment to sustainability, and off-grid capability, this vehicle offers adventurers unparalleled comfort and functionality as they explore the great outdoors.
