Title: Maine Nonprofit Receives Generous Donation of All-Electric SUV from Lee Auto Malls

In a remarkable act of philanthropy, Lee Auto Malls has gifted the Midcoast Youth Center in Bath, Maine with a brand-new, all-electric 2023 Toyota bZ4X SUV. This donation not only supports the center’s mission to help at-risk youth but also signifies Lee Auto Malls’ commitment to promoting the adoption of electric vehicles.

Adam Lee, Chairperson of Lee Auto Malls, personally presented the keys to Jamie Dorr, Executive Director of the Midcoast Youth Center. The handover took place at the Lee Toyota of Topsham dealership last month. This generous gesture is the first of many no-cost leases that Lee Auto Malls plans to offer to Maine nonprofits throughout the year, in collaboration with Efficiency Maine.

The Midcoast Youth Center offers a wide range of free programs catering to individuals aged 10 to 24. From running an after-school teen center and providing meals to developing workforce programs and addressing the issue of youth homelessness, the center has made a positive impact on the lives of over 650 young people in 2023 alone.

Expressing her gratitude, Jamie Dorr highlighted the significance of this donation for the center’s ability to fulfill its mission. Last year, the center facilitated over 135 medical, mental health, and dental appointments for teenagers and young adults under their care. With the new all-electric SUV, the center aims to not only contribute to the well-being of the community but also to create a more environmentally sustainable future.

Adam Lee emphasized the importance of this donation in helping deserving nonprofits and promoting the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. Maine, according to the U.S. Department of Energy, had approximately 4,990 electric vehicles by the end of 2022, out of more than 352,000 registered private automobiles in the state. Lee believes that by increasing visibility and providing firsthand experience with electric vehicles, more individuals will be inclined to embrace this eco-friendly mode of transportation.

This act of goodwill from Lee Auto Malls serves as a catalyst for positive change and demonstrates the commitment to making a difference in the lives of Maine residents. By supporting organizations such as the Midcoast Youth Center, the dealership is not only helping them further their impactful work but also inspiring others to prioritize sustainable choices.
